The National Security Unit's Security Consultation Department creates professional field files for its customers pursuant to standards set by the Israel Police.

A field file comprises the site's primary database and constitutes the tool that facilitates collaboration between the organization’s employees and security units and external organizations and units (especially rescue units) through the creation of a common language.

The purpose of field files is to concentrate all the relevant data pertaining to the site to enhance the familiarity of employees and external organizations with the site. A comprehensive field file improves the readiness of the organization and its employees to emergencies and enhances the real-time response of emergency forces.

A field file is in fact a shared, updated database that helps to enhance and shorten the time it takes rescue forces to respond. In case there is knowledge of a possible emergency, the field file serves as the basis for preliminary preparations through which proper, clear directions are delivered to the employees and managers before and during the event.

The specialists at the National Security Unit's Security Consultation Department conduct several field visits to learn about the site and its surroundings following which they create the site's field file. The field visits should cover each of the site's activities to clarify the unique attributes of every operational stage. The team of specialists then creates the field files, which comply with the Israel Police standard, with an emphasis on the following:

• Data regarding the structures under the responsibility of the organization/company
• An examination of buildings and their internal structure and location at the site
• Access roads to and from the site
• GPS coordinates of the site
• Access-road maps
• The regular location of security and rescue forces, and their assembly points in emergencies
