Background:

The recent years have seen increasing threats from terrorists and global terrorist organizations, widespread fundamentalist terrorism, and increased fears of multi-casualty events and the possible erosion of national resilience; these changes have been accompanied by drastic economic changes and the collapse of the global economy, which spurred white-collar crimes. These phenomena have underscored the need to upgrade and enhance the security in organizations. A pioneer in the provision of courses for security managers, the National Security Unit offers effective tools to facilitate decision making based on the Israel Police standard in response to various emergency scenarios.
Purpose of the course:

Provide professional knowledge regarding the operation of complex security systems and teach different combat doctrines based on a common language; enhance security managers' awareness and management skills; provide professional knowledge and effective tools and improve operational readiness to enable prompt real-time decision making in emergencies.
Primary course topics:

The concept of security and operational responses, self defense, planning operational activities, operational security procedures, prevention of intelligence gathering, reporting security-related events, emergencies and multi-casualty events, security companies at the service of security managers, and defense and security technologies; the threat of global terrorism, review of types of secured facilities, security and rescue forces and collaboration between them; prevention of suicide attacks, prevention of firearm assaults against secured crowds, prevention of hostile vehicle entry into a secured area, prevention of firearm smuggling in luggage/on a visitor's body, preventing booby-trapped cars from being driven and parked in a secured area, and explosives and firearm used by terrorists; intelligence gathering for security purposes, drawing conclusions from previous events, control and inspection methods, leadership-related terms and principles, and planning routine activities; reciprocity within the organization and between security managers and security units, employee reliability, training security personnel, review of different secured facilities, security centers as part of security arrays, and professional visits.
Target audience:

local security managers in public institutions listed in the Security Administration Law; security officers in municipalities and in private organizations; security officers in licensed businesses and in security companies; managers of security systems and security officers in public and private organizations.
Terms of acceptance:

12 Schooling years, no criminal record, and a personal interview. Preference for candidates who are already working as security officers.
Course duration:

The course comprises about 190 hours including the final project and professional visits. The lessons will be delivered once a week between 5:00 to 8:30 PM.
Course-completion certificate:

Students who will complete the course will receive a certificate issued by the National Security Unit.
