Purpose of the course:
 
Train and qualify managers and security managers of sports events. The course complies with the Israel Police standard and the Prohibition of Violence in Sports Law of 2008. The course teaches how to plan and manage sports events and reviews the security considerations that facilitate prompt responses to emergencies.

Primary course topics:  

The concept of security and operational responses: self defense, planning operational activities, operational security procedures, the concept of security in sports events, security companies at the service of security managers, defense and security technologies, open-fire regulation, maintaining public order, herd behavior, legal aspects of security arrays, the Prohibition of Violence in Sports Law, the Business Licensing Law, the authorities of security personnel, authorities of the Israel Police in large-scale events, fire-extinguishing systems, the Fire Fighting Law, and fire extinguishers; prevention of suicide attacks, prevention of firearm assaults against secured crowds, prevention of hostile vehicle entry into a secured area, prevention of firearm smuggling in luggage/on a visitor's body, preventing booby-trapped cars from being driven and parked in a secured area, explosives and firearm used by terrorists, the Safety at Work Law, site familiarity, business-licensing files, crowd screening, lighting and signposting systems, entry-control systems, locating attackers, risk management, identification of risk factors, risk assessment, crowd security, and evacuation of large crowds.

Target audience:

Candidates who intend to work as managers and security managers of sports events as prescribed by the Prohibition of Violence in Sports Law of 2008.

Course-completion certificate:

Students who will complete the course will receive a course-completion certificate issued by the security division of the Israel Police's operations department and the National Security Unit.
